Celebrity Haircut: Celebrity Haircut and Face Shape

There will always be celebrity haircuts that will look best on you regardless of the shape of your face. Year 2009 is just at the corner, if you are someone who would like to have a new haircut in coming year. Here's a quick guide of what celebrity haircuts to look for for five different face shapes.

Oval Face Shape
This is considered the ideal face shape by hair experts. You suit virtually any hairstyle, whether it is long, medium or short. Regardless of how long your hiar is, you'll look best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin. Basically whichever feature you want to highlight. Short or long styles will look best when brushed or held back from your face otherwise you'll cover your face shape behind the hair. Long side swept bangs are ideal as they can be worn to the side, parted in the middle or sprayed back.

Celebrity like Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Jada Pinkett Smith, Isha Deol and Yukie Nakama are fall into this oval face shape.

Long Face Shape
Some others called Oblong face shape. Whatever it's call, hairstyles for this long face shape should add width and fullness to the sides of the face and around the eyes, ears and cheekbones. If you have straight length asymmetric haircuts also look great on this face shape as they create the illusion of width. Likewise, curly or wavy styles can give the illusion of balanced width. Your best hair length is halfway down the neck. If you do opt for longer hair, it's advisable to cut in a few longer layers, especially the length is mainly at the back.

Celebrity like Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashlee Simpson, Giselle Bundchen and Sandra Oh are in this long face shape.

Round Face Shape
The goal here is to get a hairstyle that makes the face look slimmer. Long hairstyles should be worn with a face lengthening centre parting. For hair above the chin, wear an off centre parting to brek up the roundness of the face. Soft, graduated layers are flattering because they make your face appear slimmer and tend to remove bulk and weight from the sides. Creating volume at the top of your head and keeping your forehead bare will also slim your face. Bangs should be long or side-swept. In short styles, keep hair away from your face and create extra volume at the top of the head to narrow the roundness of your features. Razored ended can also create a look of lightness.

Celebrity like Kate Bosworth, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst are all in this category.

Square Face Shape
If you have a square face, you'll want to soften the sharp angle of your jaw. Hairstyles that emphasis the cheekbones are the most flattering, go for short layers worn forward onto the cheekbones. Medium to long haircut can help reduce and soften the squareness of the jaw while hair turned under at teh bottom will narrow the width of the jaw. Curly and wavy hairstyles soften a square face as they round off the angles of the face. You can also get away with short spiky cut and long, sleek haircut.

Celebrity like Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Mandy Moore, Rosario Dawson are all fall into this category.
